Based in Colorado, Joseph Hartley, owner and lead designer, has been performing accurate HVAC designs since 2010. Holds a certifiacte in ACCA compliance, RESCheck compliance, diploma with honors in Heating & Cooling from Ashworth College and holds the EPA universal certificate. Hartley Design Group has extensive experience with dry climate Manual J, high altitude Manual J, and humid climates on both the west and east coasts. We only use the most up to date industry leading WrightSoft software to perform your detailed accurate Manual J load calculation, Manual S equipment verification and sizing, and Manual D HVAC duct design.
Colorado Manual J load calculation, Manual S equipment verification, & Manual D duct designs may be new terms for you. If you are just hearing these terms for the first time it's ok we are here to help with every step of the Manual J, S, & D process to accurately and effectively get you through permit.
A Manual J load calculation determines the amount of heat loss and heat gain a home or property has. Taking into account several factors such as insulation, glazing, elevation, dry and wet bulbs just to name a few.
A Manual S equipment selection inputs the detailed performance data from the manufacturer of your heating and cooling equipment at your specific design conditions not the listed AHRI ratings which are tested at a standard 80 F indoor and 95 F outdoor temperature.
A Manual D duct design provides a detailed duct design showing the locations and sizes of all registers, branches, and trunks for your HVAC system. A detailed summary with the CFM's, velocities, and friction rates of each register, trunk, and branch in the system is also printed and added to your report.
Your permit office may also require additional reports along with your Manual J, Manual S, & Manual D. We are experienced and compliant in RESCheck compliance reports, plans examiner forms, and friction rate worksheets. We can also provide the M1507 ventilation form as is required in Colorado, Illinois and Arizona.
